Cray Bakes are all about making delicious bakes, we don’t compromise on quality and good is never good enough. We’re passionate about what we do, always listening to feedback and striving to make the best and most creative products we can to satisfy our Crayniacs ever growing need for their sweet fix. We’re going through a significant period of growth as open our very first shop.

We stock some of Yorkshire’s finest shops and eateries with our delicious range of bakes, as well as selling to customers direct on our website and at our monthly Farmers Markets and events.

Current vacancies

Sandwich Specialist and Kitchen Assistant - 35 hours per week

£23,205 p.a. (i.e £12.75 per hour)

Since 2019, Cray Bakes has been creating delicious and unique sweet treats, and we’re now looking to expand our savoury offerings for both our shop and catering clients. 

We’re looking for someone creative and loves producing top quality sandwiches and savoury products, who’s always able to put a smile on our customers (and the teams) faces, and bring the ‘Cray Bakes’ energy! We have the best bakes around, and we want to complement these with delicious sandwiches and savoury options!

Role & duties

We see this role as very much a bakery role, with a bit of customer facing work:

Food Preparation and Bakery assistance (80%) 

  • Prepare fresh sandwiches daily following recipes and quality standards 
  • Creating and developing new ideas for the shop 
  • Assist with savoury bakes production and preparation 
  • Maintain food safety and hygiene standards at all times 
  • Ensure consistent portion sizes and presentation 
  • Monitor stock levels of sandwich fillings and savoury ingredients 
  • Support main bakery operations when required 
  • Making hot sandwiches to order, including Bacon/ Sausage sandwiches and toasties 
  • Have an awareness of food trends and suggest ways to improve the Cray Bakes offering 
  • Helping with catering orders 

Shop Assistance (20%) 

  • Serve customers at the counter during busy periods 
  • Process orders using our Square POS system 
  • Handle customer inquiries about products and ingredients 
  • Maintain clean and organised shop displays 
  • Assist with shop opening/closing procedures 
  • Support online order preparation for collection
